The official check-in time at Funker is from 3:00 PM. However, we understand that travel plans can sometimes change. We will always do our best to accommodate early arrivals if your room or bed is ready.

Our online check-in process is simple and convenient:

Would you prefer to check in in person? Our friendly staff at Funker Hostel are available from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., 7 days a week to help you. You can also check in at our check-in kiosk, which is available at our entrance 24 hours a day.

A passport or European ID is required. In addition, the Hostel reserves the right to identify anyone inside the building. A valid credit card must also be presented at the time of booking. This applies to both bookings made through our website and third-party agencies. Your security is our priority. Our booking system uses encryption and tokenization technology to protect your credit card information.

Of course, if an activity is confirmed to take place and is bookable, you can reserve it in advance. This is a smart decision, especially for day trips, as they tend to fill up quickly. Therefore, if something interests you, it is a good idea to book in advance by contacting the reception staff.

Of course! If the activity is canceled due to weather or any other reason for which we are responsible, you can request a refund at our reception desk.

Of course! Our doors are open to everyone. Whether you are staying with us or just passing through Malaga, you are welcome to participate in any of our activities.

Most of our fun activities start in the afternoon, but we combine them with other activities. For example, excursions, free tours, and day trips usually start in the morning for early risers.

For most activities, you are fine as you are, but some may require a little preparation. For example, we recommend comfortable clothing and hydration on hotter days. When you register, we will provide you with detailed information about each activity, including what to bring and meeting points.

Funker Hostel offers basic amenities to make your stay comfortable:

  • In the bathrooms: we provide hand soap.
  • In the showers: we offer a 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash.

You can borrow one at the reception by leaving an ID card.

You can buy them from our vending machine in the common areas.

At Funker, each shower has both an overhead and a handheld showerhead, so you won’t have trouble getting your hair wet if you just want to wash your body.

Yes, both the rooms and the common areas have air conditioning.

Yes, we have a toaster, kettle, microwave, cooktop, fridge, and coffee maker (for a fee).

We don’t offer lunch or dinner service, but we do have a vending machine in our common areas with snacks, sandwiches, chips, chocolate bars, and other items that can be useful during your stay. Additionally, on some days we organize cooking events with typical Mediterranean recipes or barbecues.

Yes, that’s fine as long as you don’t eat in the rooms. We have a common area with tables and utensils.

Yes, that’s possible. We also offer alcoholic drinks in our vending machine.

If your rate is refundable, the payment for your booking will be made directly at the hostel upon arrival, and it must be done by card. If it is non-refundable, the total cost of your stay will be charged at the time of booking.

All payments at Funker Hostel are made by card, except in rare exceptional cases (e.g., a national power outage).

We will always do our best to keep you together, unless you’d rather not hear each other snore.

Yes, you can leave your luggage on your arrival day, departure day, or during your stay in our lockers located at the entrance, from 8:00 AM until the time you need. However, after 11:00 PM the usage time cannot be extended, as the locker code expires and must be renewed by reception staff, whose shift ends at 11:00 PM. There are different rates depending on the locker size and usage duration.

You don’t need a padlock because your room locker is secured with a code.

All our private rooms come with towels. If you’re staying in a shared room, you can rent one at reception for €3.

Of course, we provide all the necessary bedding. The use of sleeping bags or personal sheets is not allowed.

Everyone is welcome, but you cannot bring guests into your room if it is shared with others. In that case, you can use the common areas.

Yes, we have a washing machine and dryer that you can use for €4.50 per wash and €4 per 40-minute drying session. Additionally, we have an ironing board and iron available upon request at reception.

Funker Hostel offers a comfortable and safe environment for all solo travelers. Our women-only room at Funker Hostel is an 8-bed room.

We are a smoke-free property, so we kindly ask that you do not smoke inside.

While we also love our furry friends, Funker currently cannot accommodate pets. This ensures a comfortable and allergen-free environment for all our guests. Only guide dogs are allowed in private rooms.

Never. You are free to come and go whenever you like.
Although we don’t have a formal curfew, we ask that you return quietly after nighttime adventures, keeping in mind other guests who may be sleeping.

When the reception is closed, the hostel’s entrance door is also locked, but you can enter by using the code provided at check-in.

No, we recommend leaving your car in a paid parking lot. The closest one is Parking Mármoles, located at 1 Mármoles Street. You can also leave your bicycle there.

Yes, but only when accompanied by an adult and staying in a private room. They may stay alone if they are over 16 years old and have written consent signed by their legal guardian.

Of course! We have a space where you can work, read, listen to music, chat with other travelers, or simply relax.

We do not yet offer breakfast.

Check-out time at Funker is until 11:00 a.m. If you leave later than this without giving notice, we may charge you an extra fee. If you decide to extend your stay by one or more nights, please notify us at Reception before 11:00 a.m.

We offer late check-out service until 1 p.m. The price for a shared bed is €5 and for a private room is €15.

  • Reservations made through an agency: Changes can be made free of charge up to 3 days before the arrival date.

Of course! The maximum length of stay at Funker Hostel is 14 nights.

Our cancellation policy depends on how you made your booking:

  • Flexible bookings made through an agency: Free cancellation up to 2 days before the arrival date.
  • Bookings made directly on our website: Free cancellation up to 2 days before the arrival date.
  • Funker Hostel expects its guests to behave appropriately, comply with the rules and maintain proper decorum throughout the establishment. Respect for other guests, neighbours and the hostel’s property is requested. Failure to comply may result in being asked to leave the building.
  • It is forbidden to use more beds than have been paid for, whether for sleeping, lying down or storing items. Failure to comply will result in the guest being charged for the additional bed.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the building.
  • Eating in the rooms is prohibited.
  • Hostel towels may not be used at the beach.
  • Drugs are illegal in Spain and their possession, distribution and/or consumption is not permitted in the hostel. If any guest consumes drugs anywhere in the building, they will be required to leave the premises and no refund will be issued.
  • The sale of alcohol to minors under the age of 18 is prohibited. Alcohol is available from the vending machine and may only be consumed there.
  • Please maintain an appropriate tone of voice at all times to ensure harmonious coexistence among guests, trying to be quiet in the corridors and stairways.
  • Vandalism is a very serious offence. Guests who commit any type of offence may be expelled from the Hostel.
  • In the event of any type of unacceptable and inappropriate behaviour by a roommate, the other occupant of the room must report the facts to the person in charge of the establishment.
  • Guests are responsible for keeping their rooms and the hostel’s common areas, such as the kitchen and communal areas, clean and tidy. This includes putting away any shared utensils that are used and keeping shared rooms reasonably tidy.
  • Lights and other electrical appliances must be turned off when not in use. Help us save energy!
  • The Hostel’s furniture must not be moved without the prior permission of the establishment’s management.
  • Any damage to the property must be reported immediately to the person in charge of the establishment. All damage caused will be charged, except for damage caused by wear and tear from continuous use.
  • It is not permitted to stick up posters, writings or slogans or cause any kind of damage to the establishment’s facilities.
  • Contractors or any other service personnel may enter the rooms as and when necessary in the course of their duties, in accordance with the instructions of the establishment’s management. However, every effort will be made to respect the privacy of our guests.
  • To avoid disturbing other guests at the hostel, cooking and showering after 11:30 p.m. should be avoided as much as possible.
  • Clothes may not be left in the showers.
  • The Funker Hostel reception will be closed between 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
  • Funker Hostel has a 24-hour video surveillance system.
  • There is a locker for storing luggage next to each bed. The hostel is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of guests’ property. We therefore advise all our customers to keep their room doors and lockers closed at all times for security reasons and to store and keep track of all personal valuables such as mobile phones, laptops, watches, music players, etc.
  • Guests are responsible for closing the door properly each time they enter or leave the hostel, taking special care during the hours when the reception is closed.
  • It is not permitted to change rooms or stay overnight in a room other than your own without the prior consent of the management.
  • The possession and distribution of any type of weapon, drugs, and dangerous and/or flammable materials is prohibited.

The Hostel management reserves the right to review and modify the rules and regulations at any time it deems appropriate. Ignorance of the rules will not be an acceptable excuse in the event of a penalty.
